Those in the music industry do a lot of crazy things and are not ashamed to admit it. They get involved with drugs, partying, legal issues, and more. Yet, some are able to recover and get right back on track. Sadly, others cannot rebound so easily, and it can ruin their whole careers and livelihood. This was just the case with a country music legend who recently took a serious turn. They embarked on a wild ride filled with drugs and alcohol, but at the peak of the adventure, they stabbed themselves.
Billy Don Burns, 76, born in Fifty-Six, Arkansas, has been an infamous “outlaw” on the country scene. More so, he saw Johnny Cash and Hank Williams and knew that they were men he wanted to emulate. One of his most infamous singles was “She Hasn’t Been a Lady Very Long,” but his partying ways caught up to him. A post was shared of Billy in a hospital bed with monitors all over him. Moreover, he looked worn down, sharing what he had been through. This included traveling and some wild times, and culminating with him begging for prayers:
- I ask for everyone to pray for me that I am able to separate myself from the drugs and alcohol and get me back on track with my Music! It was only 13 days ago that I was found in a drug infested East L.A. Street with a knife in my chest and a needle in my arm, soaked in blood. By the Grace of God, I am still here.
Billy added that he stabbed himself three times with a pocketknife; however, he has five wounds. His hospital stay is hopefully almost over, but he is on the heart floor for now.
