Fred again.. and BIA Link for Bass-Fueled EP, “ICEY..FEISTY”

Fred again.. and BIA trade maximalist energy across the former’s most bass-forward slate of tracks yet.

Fred again.. is keeping the pressure high amid his 10-city pop-up tour, rolling out a new two-track EP this week, ICEY..FEISTY.

The release is part of his increasingly visible “song-a-week” style cadence. The project arrives amid a sprint of releases and surprise performances that have turned his USB002 rollout into something closer to a serialized live experiment.

The EP pairs the British producer with BIA, who’s no stranger to electronic crossovers, but this offering marks her first collaborative release with Fred. The EP comes at a moment when both artists are working in maximalist mode, and the results lean harder and heavier than much of the electronic music superstar’s recent catalog.

Across the two tracks, Fred and BIA meet each other at full tilt. “ICEY..” threads flashes of BIA’s 2022 hit “London” into her delivery as the production features an elastic bass line that snaps the track into motion. Without breaking stride, “..FEISTY” tilts the energy with woozy low-end swells and tremolo-sliced vocal edits that warp the groove. Heard together, the songs flow like back-to-back chapters and built with the intensity Fred characteristically saves for his live debuts.
