Keith Urban Fans Bash Him As Greedy Sell-Out
Fans have long loved Keith Urban, his style, music, and his charm. He has had a lot of endeavors and worked very hard, but recently, everything came crashing down. The four-time Grammy winner and his wife of nearly two decades, Nicole Kidman, called it quits. It seemed like she wanted to make it work, but Keith was done with it, and they are now divorcing. This comes after they welcomed two daughters and a lavish Nashville, Tennessee home. There are questions about whether he has already moved on, but no one knows what has gone on behind closed doors. Now, Keith has done something that has fans up in arms.

On Saturday, November 15th, Anthony Pratt, an Australian billionaire, hosted a party at Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, Florida. This is the main home of President Donald Trump and where he hosts many events. However, Anthony Pratt took over for the weekend and invited Keith to perform. While there, he sang “Pink Pony Club” by Chappell Roan and Bob Marley’s “Is This Love.” Immediately, fans called out Keith as both greedy and a sell-out for performing at Mar-a-Lago and using these songs.
Yes, President Trump was in attendance, and many did not understand why Keith Urban would sing “Pink Pony Club.” It is supposed to be an all-inclusive song, and this was deemed the absolute wrong audience:
- Is this a joke? Pink Pony Club is about a place for drag queens and qu**rs. Why would you sing that in front of Trump???? I tried to give Keith the benefit of the doubt, but I’m over him.
Many also felt that this was a direct insult to Chappell Roan and could not forgive Keith for what he had done.
‘Social Suicide’
Some Keith Urban fans referred to this performance as “social suicide.” They could not believe where he performed and that he sang the songs he did:
- Maybe just hopefully he sung it to be ironic considering where he was performing. But anyone with half a brain would know performing there would be social suicide
Others simply noted that they were no longer supporting Keith and were done with him:
- Keith is dead to me
- Keith Urban just killed his career.
- I will no longer listen to Keith urban anymore
It has been noted that Keith Urban does not need the money, so why did he do this? Is he that desperate for acceptance and cash, or was he just doing what he felt was right? This is unclear, but he did alienate many fans, and that could be a problem. However, he did gain a lot of support from others, so time will tell how much damage this performance did.
Are you surprised by where Keith performed and what he sang, or is it no big deal? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
