Country Music Star Assaulted, Tour Canceled After Arrest
A country music star claimed that he was assaulted during a concert. But the singer wound up being the one under arrest. Keep reading to find out what happened and the official word on the tour cancellation.
Country Singer Claims Assault During Concert
Being placed under arrest is a badge of honor in the country music industry. Legendary singers Johnny Cash and Merle Haggard were arrested many times. Morgan Wallen’s career exploded in popularity after his arrest in 2024. But in a rare case, a country singer was arrested after being assaulted during a concert.

Todd Snider got his start in the music industry in the 1990s after opening for Jimmy Buffett. He just released his 17th album, High, Lonesome and Then Some, in October. Todd Snider planned to do a small tour to promote the album. The tour opening went off without a hitch but he faced trouble in Salt Lake City, Utah.
The singer’s official Instagram wrote that the performance in Utah was canceled after the singer was violently assaulted outside his hotel room. Furthermore, the post said that Todd Snider won’t be returning to the stage for an undetermined amount of time. His arrest left fans with more questions than answers.
Todd Snider Under Arrest, Cancels Tour
Todd Snider was allegedly the one assaulted but he was the one put under arrest. Fox affiliate KSTU-TV reported that the singer was arrested after a disturbance. He was reportedly booked on charges of disorderly conduct, criminal trespassing, and threatening violence.

The details of the incident are few and far between. Some news outlets in Utah reported that the singer was arrested at the hospital after suffering injuries in the alleged assault.
But the singer’s fans think more is going on than the public knows. One fan wrote that the local news aren’t sure “if any assault took place.”
Another fan suggested, “Sounds like he’s been dealing with a spine injury and may have gone to the hospital to try to get meds- unfortunately hospitals in Utah don’t just give out opioids- and he got pissed and threw a fit, then got arrested. Quite the violent assault.”
A third fan wrote, “He was arrested for threating [sic] violence against hospital workers after the alleged assault took place.”

Another skeptic fan pointed out, “Not a single person saw the assault or can give details about it. Not even Todd Snider is giving details or facts on what happened. He doesn’t even try to locate a possible video recorded nearby where he was attacked. He doesn’t even make a police report.
What we know is true is that the tour was canceled for the immediate future. Whether Todd Snider was actually assaulted isn’t confirmed at this time. But fans sent the singer their best wishes for a speedy recovery if he was assaulted.
Let us know in the comments if the assault story sounds sketchy, especially knowing that Todd Snider was the one placed under arrest.
