Anyma to Shape Visuals for League of Legends Worlds Finale

Riot Games has enlisted the multidisciplinary electronic artist to handle creative direction for part of its 2025 League of Legends Worlds opening ceremony.

Riot Games has tapped electronic music superstar Anyma to co-direct the opening ceremony for the esports tournament League of Legends Worlds 2025.

The November 9th event in Chengdu will feature the multidisciplinary performer alongside Chinese pop star G.E.M., who recorded this year’s Worlds anthem “Sacrifice.” Anyma, known for his groundbreaking Vegas Sphere residency, will handle creative direction for the ceremony’s third act while also joining G.E.M. on stage for “a special live performance” of the track, according to a press release.

“I’ve been an avid gamer all my life, so headlining Worlds 2025 is a real honor,” Anyma said. “Riot Games’ consistent storytelling on such a large scale feels truly limitless. “League of Legends has created universes that inspire millions, and I’m thrilled to bring my sound and touch into their world to push the boundaries of what’s possible through such an impactful medium.”

Maria Egan, Riot’s Global Head of Music & Events, framed the partnership as pushing “new boundaries” for the company’s stage production by connecting League of Legends IP with Anyma’s visual style.

The collaboration marks Riot’s latest attempt to position Worlds alongside major cultural events rather than treating it as purely an esports competition. Maria Egan, Riot’s Global Head of Music & Events, framed the partnership as “a collaboration unlike anything we’ve done before,” noting their ambitions to amplify the company’s stage production by entwining League of Legends IP with Anyma’s visual style.

The opening ceremony will also feature Austrian artist TEYA and Chrissy Costanza, whose 2017 Worlds anthem “Legends Never Die” remains popular among fans. Riot is working with global production company Done+Dusted on the event, which broadcasts live from Dong’an Lake Sports Park Indoor Gymnasium.
