EQ Music Interview with Ivy

In this EQ Music interview with Ivy, the Norwegian-born, London-based pop powerhouse opens up about her fearless approach to making unapologetic pop — bold, emotional, and built for the dance floor. She talks about the inspiration behind her empowering single “Corvette”, the exhilarating freedom it captures, and how her live shows take audiences on a journey from euphoric highs to heartfelt vulnerability. With influences like Rihanna, Zara Larsson, and Lady Gaga shaping her sound and stage presence, Ivy is here to make pop larger than life.

Tell us a little bit about yourself. Where are you from? Where are you living? What kind of music do you make?
I’m Ivy, a Norwegian-born, London-based pop artist. I grew up in Oslo but London is where I’ve really been building my career. I make unapologetic pop — bold, fun, and honest. My music is club-ready, but at the same time full of real stories and emotions.

We are very excited to be featuring you on our New Music Showcase on 24th October at The Camden Club in London, tell us a little bit about what you are going to bring to us on the stage.
My set is going to be a mix of high-energy tracks you can dance to, and some sadder, more vulnerable songs that show another side of me. I love taking the audience on a journey — from euphoric, playful moments to the kind of songs that really hit you.

We absolutley love “Corvette” – tell us a little bit about this song/project.
“Corvette” is one of my favorites so far. It’s about feeling unstoppable — that main-character, top-down, late-night freedom kind of vibe. The song is playful and bold, but underneath it’s about reclaiming power and living life on your own terms.

When it comes to music influences, who are your greatest heroes in the pop music space both legacy and new?
I’ve always looked up to Rihanna — she’s the definition of fearless artistry. And Zara Larsson is a big inspiration too, because she’s showing what Scandinavian pop can do on a global stage. Both of them remind me to stay bold, authentic, and larger than life.

What was the last concert or gig you went to?
The last gig I went to was Lady Gaga — and honestly, it was the best show I’ve ever been to. The production, vocals, energy — everything was next level. It reminded me why I fell in love with pop in the first place.

Any parting words for our EQ Music Blog readers?
