SUICIDE SILENCE Announces First-Ever Vinyl Pressing Of Their 2005 Debut EP
Suicide Silence is celebrating the 20th anniversary of their debut self-titled EP with a brand-new, limited-edition vinyl pressing via Wax Vessel. The pressing features new artwork from Dan Mumford, new layout from Kai Blackwell, and a full remaster courtesy of Third Eye Studios.
No word on if the EP will feature bonus tracks or rarities, but as it stands the original EP runs as follows:
- “Ending Is the Beginning”
- “Swarm”
- “About a Plane Crash”
- “Distorted Thought of Addiction”
- “Destruction of a Statue” (live)
Suicide Silence will go on pre-sale come September 26 right here. And you better be quick, because these Wax Vessel pressings generally fly off the shelves.
“Happy Friday! In an unbelievable turn of events, Suicide Silence and Wax Vessel have teamed up to bring their seminal self-titled EP to vinyl for the first and last time,” wrote Wax Vessel of the new pressing. “In celebration of this album’s 20th anniversary, we’ve prepared an exclusive 500 piece pressing – wax mage variants, redesigned art and remastered audio.”
On the new artwork, Mumford added: “I was recently asked by the excellent Wax Vessel to create some new artwork for the vinyl release of Suicide Silence‘s debut EP. This was a really special project for me, because I had actually done the artwork for the UK release of this back in 2006 on In At the Deep End records.
“So nearly 20 years later I’ve tried to merge my cover with the original EP’s US cover art symbol and pay reverence to how important this EP was to so many! That guy there in the original art… he’s still having a tough time on this new piece down in the corner! More art to come with this project…”
