Tomorrowland Brazil 2026 Postponed After Mainstage Fire Derails Plans
Following the destruction of the Orbyz Mainstage in Belgium, Tomorrowland’s Brazilian offshoot will take a year off as organizers opt to rebuild their centerpiece.
As Tomorrowland‘s towering Mainstage stage suddenly went up in flames in July, it took with it an entire year of planning for the festival’s South American edition.
In the wake of a catastrophic fire that engulfed the stage, Orbyz, at Tomorrowland’s flagship Belgium festival, organizers have confirmed that its Brazil offshoot will no longer take place in 2026. That’s according to a statement made by CEO Bruno Vanwelsenaers to Veja, one of the country’s largest and most influential weekly news magazines, highlighting a disruption in Tomorrowland’s ordinarily tightly sequenced strategy.
Since its 2023 edition, Tomorrowland Brazil has traditionally relied on the availability of the previous year’s Belgian mainstage, which is meticulously dismantled, shipped by boat overseas and reconstructed in Brazil for the October event.
The rescheduling means Brazil’s next mainstage in 2027 will likely be modeled after Belgium’s 2026 installation, setting the stage for a new cycle of visual storytelling across continents. While the absence of Tomorrowland Brazil 2026 represents a near term setback, the extra time ensuring the success of the 2027 edition may ultimately play in the brand’s favor going forward.
Meanwhile, the 2025 Tomorrowland Brazil festival remains on track to take place from October 10-12 with Alesso, Armin van Buuren, Axwell, NERVO and EDM.com Class of 2025 artist Layton Giordani, among many others. Tickets are available here.
