Morgan Wallen Shuns Music Industry After Past Controversies
Morgan Wallen broke records with his fourth studio album. He released I’m The Problem earlier this year. The album quickly shot to the number one spot. The album followed his One Thing At a Time album. All 36 songs from One Thing At a Time landed on the Billboard charts at the same time. Despite the record-breaking milestone, the popular singer has decided to shun the biggest awards in the music industry: The Grammys.
Morgan Wallen Shuns Music Industry After Past Controversies
Morgan Wallen first gained public attention in 2014 as a contestant on season six of The Voice. He didn’t win, but landed a record deal. After releasing his debut album in 2015 with another label, he signed with Big Loud. He released his second album The Way I Talk in 2016.
His star continued to rise until 2021, when he was caught on camera shouting a racial slur. His career was nearly ruined over the incident. Morgan Wallen’s record label temporarily suspended his contract and radio stations refused to play his music.
He was banned from several award ceremonies, including the ACMs and the American Music Awards. Morgan Wallen apologized and eventually regained his career. But he made headlines again in 2024 when he was arrested at Eric Church’s Nashville bar. The “Last Night” singer threw a chair off the bar roof. He eventually took a plea deal for seven days of jail time and two years of probation.

Things were on the rise again when he abruptly walked off stage after performing on Saturday Night Live. The incident was more surprising than scandalous.
Fox News Digital reported this week that Morgan Wallen refuses to submit his 2024 album I’m The Problem for the 2026 Grammy Awards.
Fans Show Support

His Previous Grammy Nominations
Morgan Wallen may be boycotting the Grammys but the Grammys haven’t boycotted him. He was nominated at the 2025 Grammys for his 2024 collaboration with Post Malone. The duo released “I Had Some Help” in 2024.
The song was nominated for Best Country Song and Best Country Duo/Group Performance. Kacey Musgraves took home Best Country Song for her hit “The Architect.”
Beyoncé and Miley Cyrus took home the award for Best Country Duo/Group Performance for “II Most Wanted”
