Country singer Ashley McBryde is about to open a sober bar in Nashville, and this is something you don’t want to miss out on visiting. It will be called “Redemption Bar” and is part of Eric Church’s Nashville bar, “Chiefs.”

Ashley McBryde’s Sober Journey

It turns out that Ashley McBryde has been sober for almost a year now. Back in March, she shared that it had been 1000 days. While talking to Whiskey Riff, she really opened up about her journey and how it isn’t easy to be the sober one. Here is what she had to say:

“Not drinking sucks. It sucks when other people are doing it and just you can’t. And it sucks when, over 1,000 days into not drinking, your brain goes, ‘You could probably, if you think about it, two fingers of whiskey, you’d probably be fine.’ And you’re like, I probably would be. I might get sick though.

You can’t even entertain this, what are you doing?”

All About Ashley’s New Bar

Ashley’s new bar is going to be all zero-proof and a great place to go in Nashville. It will be on Broadway inside “Chiefs” and will be on the 5th floor. The names will all be after lyrics that have inspired her over the years.

Another thing about this bar is it will be a great place for people who sing songs about storytelling. She doesn’t just want covers being sung there. This is going to be a great place to listen to music that you don’t want to miss out on when heading to Nashville.

Ashley McBryde explained her thoughts, saying, “Songwriters are the backbone of this community, and it’s important to me to create a place for all the tourists on lower Broadway to experience original music from some of the people who are keeping dreams alive in this town.”

They will still offer alcohol for those who want it, but it won’t be the main focus. Chiefs is a great place for artists to share their own music and this you will want to see. Ashley said, “As someone who is three years sober, the typical response to ‘do you have anything Non-Alcoholic?’ is either ‘why did you come to a bar if you aren’t gonna drink?’ or ‘you can have soda water and a lime I guess.’ Some of my favorite places to socialize became wildly unaccommodating when the only thing that changed was what was in my cup. It was vital that I create a space where not drinking is the forethought – normalized. You can get alcohol drinks in Redemption too, because everyone is welcome.”
