Lainey Wilson Praised For Sweet Gesture Toward Young Fans
Lainey Wilson is still in the relatively early stages of a long career in country music. She was writing music and touring for years before her big break came thanks to her appearance on the hit TV show Yellowstone. The song “Things a Man Oughta Know” in 2021 was her breakout hit. The “Bell Bottom Country” singer has already earned some of the highest awards in country music, including Entertainer of the Year at the 2023 Academy of Country Music Awards, and a Grammy for Country Album of the Year in 2025.

Lainey Wilson Channels Legend Johnny Cash At Grand Ole Opry
Lainey Wilson was invited to join the Grand Ole Opry by Reba McEntire in 2024 and was inducted that same year. She recently returned to the famed circle for the iconic venue’s 100th anniversary. The “Watermelon Moonshine” singer has been a regular guest at the Grand Ole Opry. But her latest appearance was extra special.

She took the stage with a guitar that belonged to one of country music’s most famous singers. Johnny Cash passed away in 2003 at the age of 71, but his legacy will never die.
Lainey Wilson performed the legend’s song, “God’s Gonna Cut You Down” while playing one of Cash’s guitars. The late singer recorded the song shortly before his death. It was released posthumously, and peaked at number eight on the country music charts.
“This is Johnny Cash’s guitar. And I can’t believe that I’m getting to play it tonight,” Lainey Wilson said in awe when she took the Grand Ole Opry stage.

Her Wholesome Interaction With Young Fans Goes Viral
Lainey Wilson is in the middle of a tour and she makes every stop special for the audience. At a recent show in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the singer made the dreams of two young fans come true.
According to Parade magazine, Lily, 19, and Violet, 13, were determined to get on stage with Lainey Wilson at Summerfest. The younger girl had an idea for a sign that was bound to get the singer’s attention.
“Our Dad’s Said Would Give Each $100 If U Bring Us Both On Stage,” the sign read. Not only did Lainey Wilson bring the girls on stage, she shared a special moment with Violet.
She had the young fan repeat an affirmation. “I am beautiful! I am smart! I am talented! I can do anything!” The teen happily repeated the phrases on cue.
Then Lainey Wilson added another moment to the memory. She told the young fan that she was cowgirl of the night and replaced Violet’s white cowboy hat with a black one of her own. She then placed the girl’s white hat on top before giving her a warm embrace.
