Tim McGraw Backs Out Of Performance Amid Health Struggles
Tim McGraw took the stage for the first time in over a year last month. He was forced to cancel his tour in 2024 after suffering a serious injury. He performed at the first-ever Music City Rodeo in Nashville on May 31, 2025. The concert went off without a hitch, but he had to back out of an upcoming performance due to ongoing health issues. What’s going on with the popular singer?
Tim McGraw Injured During Tour
Tim McGraw’s latest album was released in the summer of 2023. He embarked on the Standing Room Only Tour in March of 2024 to promote the album. The tour was extended into the fall after popular demand.
However, Tim McGraw wasn’t able to finish the tour. He was forced to cancel the remaining dates after getting hurt. His injury happened during a previous tour. He had double knee surgery after canceling his tour.
The singer recently revealed that he’d undergone multiple back surgeries, in addition to the knee surgery. In fact, he blamed his bad knees for causing his back to flare up, forcing him to cancel the tour.

He finally felt he was on the mend and ready to resume performing on stage. Unfortunately, he may have pushed himself too fast too soon.
Forced To Back Out Of Upcoming Performance
Tim McGraw took the stage for the first time last month after canceling his tour. By all accounts, the performance went off without a hitch. Jelly Roll and Reba McEntire were the headliners for the event, as well. But Tim McGraw was the closing performance at the end of the three-day event.
His next performance was supposed to be next month at another rodeo event. He was scheduled to perform at the Professional Bull Riders’ Last Cowboy Standing event in Fort Collins, Colorado, on July 21.
Unfortunately, news came out earlier this week that he was no longer performing. According to Parade magazine, the official press release cited “recent back surgery” as the reason for the cancellation.
The Oklahoma-based band Cross Canadian Ragweed will replace Tim McGraw as the headliner for the event. The venue is offering refunds to anyone who wants them now that the “Don’t Take The Girl” singer was forced to back out.
According to his website, Tim McGraw’s next performance is scheduled for August 2nd for the MLB Speedway Classic game in Bristol, Tennessee. The Atlanta Braves and Cincinnati Reds face off for the first regular-season game held in Tennessee.
His next stop after that is a performance on August 30, at the iconic Field Of Dreams in Dyersville, Iowa. He has yet to cancel either of those performances.
He has a handful of dates scheduled for the rest of the year. Hopefully, he can recover enough to continue with the performances.
