Some judges suspected that it could be Gretchen Wilson behind the mask, but, it was not until the big reveal that this was confirmed. Wilson proved that she still had the singing chops to go far in the competition, and what she did clearly resonated with viewers, too.
Wilson Opens Up About Health Struggles That Took Her Away From The Spotlight
Following her big win on The Masked Singer, Gretchen Wilson recently opened up about her health struggles, which caused her to step away from the spotlight. The singer said: “So, I got COVID. I was one of the very first to get it, and it was a heck of a round.”
The country star continued, adding: “It left me with high blood pressure, shortness of breath, asthma — all of which I still have — and it took about two years for me to find the right doctors, cardiologists to get it all sorted, to find the right medicine to get my blood pressure down. I mean, it was pretty severe. It was bad enough that I couldn’t even do light housework without the blood pressure going up to scary levels.”
Gretchen Wilson Dealt With Even More Away From The Limelight
According to what Wilson had to say recently, she dealt with a lot more than this, and it kept her away from the limelight in the process. The way that Gretchen Wilson tells it, she shattered her leg at one point and had to be in a wheelchair.
The singer went on to add: “I also shattered my leg, and I was in a wheelchair for eight months. So there was a lot that I had to work through.”
After everything she has dealt with of late, this win on The Masked Singer has to feel good for Gretchen Wilson, and it serves as additional proof that she still has plenty left in the tank as an entertainer. Many people loved seeing her on the show, and there were a lot of positive comments for her following her big win.
