Lauren Alaina Gets Emotional, Feels ‘Left Out’
Lauren Alaina was the runner-up on American Idol nearly fifteen years ago. She used the exposure from the popular singing competition to make a name and career for herself in country music. But she’s taken a backseat to up-and-coming stars in recent years. In an emotional social media post, Lauren Alaina opened up about feeling left out.
Lauren Alaina Didn’t Attend 2025 Academy Of Country Music Awards
In 2018, Lauren Alaina won an Academy of Country Music Award in the New Female Vocalist of the Year category. Her last studio album, Sitting Pretty on Top of the World, was released in 2021. She had her last number one hit song that same year for “Thinking ‘Bout You” with Dustin Lynch.
Country music stars got together this week for the 2025 Academy of Country Music Awards. But not everyone showed up. Morgan Wallen skipped the awards ceremony, despite having several nominations. Another country artist who missed the awards show was Lauren Alaina.

In an emotional social media post, she admitted that she was feeling “left behind” by the country music industry.
She Gets Emotional, Reveals She Feels ‘Left Out’
Now 30, Lauren Alaina is going through some huge life changes in the last few years. She married Cam Arnold in 2024. She announced in January that she was pregnant. She revealed her growing baby bump in the music video for her new single, “Those Kind of Women.”
“The last couple of years have been a year of transition for me in music, and all these things, and I just feel kind of left behind,” she said in the emotional video. Lauren Alaina added that she isn’t feeling that way just because she’s pregnant.
She noted that she didn’t attend the ACM Awards last year either. While she knew she would probably regret being so vulnerable, she did it for a reason. She wanted anyone else feeling left out of anything that they weren’t alone.
But Still Supportive Of Other Country Artists
Lauren Alaina wasn’t at the ACM Awards in person but she was there in spirit. She live posted on social media throughout the show. She gave several shout-outs on Instagram for several country stars after their win. She congratulated Lainey Wilson and Ella Langley.
Lauren Alaina also paid tribute to Alan Jackson. He was honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award in his name at the 2025 ceremony. She reposted his photo with a quote from his speech. “I came to Nashville with a paper sack of songs and a crazy dream,” he said.

The “Here In The Real World” singer is retiring from touring at the end of the Last Call: One More for the Road tour. It wraps up later this month. Alan Jackson revealed in 2021 that he had the nerve condition Charcot-Marie-Tooth, which causes nerve damage in the arms and legs.
While Lauren Alaina was “sad” not to be at the ACM Awards, she was happy for her friends. “I know what that means to them because that’s what I want as well, and I don’t want them not to have that,” she said in the video.
