BLOOD MONOLITH (NAILS, UNDEATH, Etc.) Addresses Technofascism On New Single “Apparatus”
Blood Monolith – the new band featuring guitarist and vocalist Shelby Lermo (Nails, Ulthar, ex-Vastum), guitarist Tommy Wall (Undeath), bassist Nolan (Genocide Pact, Shitstorm) and drummer Aidan Tydings-Lynch (Deliriant Nerve, Brain Tourniquet) – is now streaming their second vicious single “Apparatus”. Though I’m not sure which is more violent here – the song itself, or the pressing message of it.
“‘Apparatus’ is about the onslaught of technofascism, and how we’re all supporting it to some extent in service of convenience,” said Lermo. “Chris at Profound Lore hit me up about someone doing some sort of video for it. I occasionally work as a video editor, so I decided I’d just do it myself.”
It’s also pretty fitting that Blood Monolith released this song today, as Google has been found to hold illegal online ad tech monopolies. All hail our robot overlords.
The Calling Of Fire was engineered by Lermo and Matt Michel (Goetia, Left Cross, Antichrist Siege Machine) who also mixed the tracks, mastered by Adam Tucker at Signaturetone Recordings (Ulthar, Maul, Obsequiae), and adorned with cover art by legendary Rudimentary Peni frontman Nick Blinko. Pre-orders are available here.
