Cozy Mountain Retreat Owned By Dolly Parton For Sale
Dolly Parton previously owned a cabin in Idyllwild, California, which is now available for purchase. The three-story mountain retreat is available for just over three-quarters of a million dollars. Tiffany Raridon is managing the property sale, which is being brokered by Elevated Properties. The cabin is positioned by a small creek a short walk from town and remains nearly exactly as Dolly left it. Country music superstar Dolly Parton was the last to occupy the cabin with her mother. She left behind furnishings, decor, and collectibles.

The property is designed with a mid-century chalet flair and features large wood-beamed ceilings. Large windows let in great light. There is a dramatic stone fireplace featured in the living room. Outside is a spacious deck where you can enjoy the great outdoors. The cabin also features an EV charging station, a luxury shingle roof, and independent heating/cooling zones for ultimate comfort. Dolly Parton purchased the mountain retreat in December of 1994. The cabin is 18,00 square feet. Parton spent many days and nights in the loft writing and practising her hit songs.
Dolly Parton Suffers Devestating Loss
Dolly Parton recently lost her late husband, Carl Dean, who passed away on March 3, 2025. They were married in 1966 and have been together for nearly 60 years. Carl Dean was Dolly’s favorite supporter. They were extremely close. Carl Dean preferred to live a private life out of the limelight. Parton has been struggling with the loss of her life partner since his passing. She shared that Carl was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, which made the end of his life difficult. Dolly noted that her husband “suffered a great deal” before he passed away. She added that she is happy he has been able to find peace despite how hard his passing is for her. She said:
“I’m at peace that he’s at peace, but that don’t keep me from missing him and loving him.” She continued, “I’m doing better than I thought I would. I’ve been with him 60 years. So I’m going to have to relearn some of the things that we’ve done. But I’ll keep him always close.”

Dolly Parton is taking steps to move on after her husband passed away. She released a touching song dedicated to Carl Dean, “If You Hadn’t Been There.” She is also preparing for a symphonic orchestra tour, Dolly Parton’s Threads: My Songs in Symphony. The country music star is making improvements to Dollywood dedicated to Carl and also has a Broadway musical in the works. She will always have her late husband in her heart, but she is taking steps to heal from this devastating loss.
