BEN KOLLER of CONVERGE Involved In Hit-And-Run That Rolled His Car Over; Says He’s “Pretty Lucky To Be Alive”
Yesterday afternoon, the drummer for bands Converge and Mutoid Man, Ben Koller, was involved in a t-bone car accident in which his vehicle ended up rolling over in the middle of the road.
Posting a photo to Instagram with a caption detailing that the offending car ended up colliding with Koller in the middle of the street, causing his car to flip onto the roof. He writes that the he offender fled the scene, leaving behind what is presumably the front bumper, the license plate attached.
The picture shows a Toyota flipped onto its roof, with the car itself still relatively intact. While it will certainly be a write-off, there is no major debris and nothing looks to be missing – which could be considered a miracle considering Koller‘s account of the event:
“Nice little Sunday. They t-boned me and fled the scene. Luckily their bumper flew off and had the license plate on it. I’m somehow walking and talking and pretty lucky to be alive. Don’t waste a second this thing could be over at any second and it’s completely out of your control. I think god wants me to finish my work at @heavymusiccollective. ok bye see you at saddest day fest.”
Receiving well wishes from artists in bands such as Touché Amoré, Pile, God’s Hate, Russian Circles, The Red Chord, Suicidal Tendencies, and more, Koller says he still intends on performing at the Converge‘s ‘Saddest Day 2025’ festival. Taking place next Saturday, the one-day festival will host (obviously) Converge, Touché Amoré, Soul Glo, and recently announced, Full Of Hell.
Koller himself commented below the photo, tagging Toyota’s Instagram, and saying, “Thank you for saving my life.” Toyota ended up responding: “We’re sorry this happened to you, but we’re also relieved that you’re okay. Thank you for sharing and for being a part of our Toyota Family.”
Wishing Koller all the best.
