Zeds Dead Turn Red Rocks Mashups Into Full-Fledged Cinema With “Channel Flipping 2: Only You”: Watch

Channeling Nas, John Lennon and more, the new visual pushes Zeds Dead’s channel-surfing “RSIH” concept into a dense collage of shared cultural memory.

Zeds Dead have released “Channel Flipping 2: Only You,” a surprise visual that deepens the universe they introduced on this year’s stunning album, Return To The Spectrum Of Intergalactic Happiness.

The release also expands the concept first established in their original “Channel Flipping” work. Where the initial installment arrived alongside the duo’s hotly anticipated sophomore album, this new edition pushes the idea even further by translating some of their most beloved Red Rocks mashups into a cinematic audiovisual.

The RSIH universe centers on an old television drifting through space, time and memory, picking up fragments of culture along the way. “Channel Flipping 2: Only You” weaves together classic performance clips, cinematic film scenes, archival moments and era-specific broadcasts in a rapid-fire sequence that mirrors the pacing of their live shows.

Sampling, nostalgia and the art of crate-digging have long been part of Zeds Dead’s core identity. The mashup becomes the backbone for a visual journey that feels like it’s pulling moments from our collective consciousness and scattering them across a collapsing timeline.

The project threads imagery and sounds of hip-hop icons, rock performances, vintage broadcasts and influential film scenes. Viewers will catch Nas, Three 6 Mafia, John Lennon, Talking Heads’ “Once in a Lifetime,” the Modern English’s “I Melt With You” video, clips from Scarface and commentary from comedian Bill Hicks, all spliced by bursts of static as the channel flips. The entire piece ultimately lands on a closing monologue from legendary rapper Tupac Shakur.
