‘CMA’ Fans Turn On Chris Stapleton, Done With Him For Good

CMA (Country Music Association) Awards fans have turned on music sensation Chris Stapleton. Moreover, it appears that many may finally be done with the Lexington, Kentucky native, but what is the reasoning? Keep reading for more details on the Chris rebellion.
CMA Fans Turn On Chris Stapleton
For years, Chris Stapleton has been the one to beat at the CMA Awards, and everyone knows that. It has become slightly exhausting watching him walk away with the same award every single year. That being said, the CMAs are coming up on Wednesday, November 19th, 2025. They will be hosted by the fun and quirky Lainey Wilson, who is taking the job solo. She was the third wheel in 2024, alongside Luke Bryan and Peyton Manning. Country music fans are more than looking forward to this big night and seeing all of their favorite artists in one place. Yet, they are hoping for one big change.
CMA fans really would like to see someone other than Chris Stapleton take home the award for Male Vocalist of the Year. He has won eight out of the ten years he has been nominated, and it is time for someone else to take home the prize. Many do believe that he is an incredible singer, so they will not take that away from him, and that is fair. However, in 2025, he had not done nearly enough to warrant the win. Chris released one song for a soundtrack and did a duet with Miranda Lambert.
There are many other men in the industry who can sing and who have more current resumes. Yet, it could be Chris Stapleton’s year all over again, and that may not fly. Unfortunately, the Male Vocalist of the Year has a loose definition, and Chris may fit the bill:
This Award goes to the artist. The Award is based on individual musical performance on a solo Country single or album release, as well as the overall contribution to Country Music.
Therefore, how much he did in 2024 and more could be the determining factors, but time will tell. Finally, it appears that a win for Chris has become the “safe” route.
Done With Chris
After Chris Stapleton’s name came up in a handful of CMA categories, fans were not happy. Moreover, they did not understand how he landed these nominations and immediately rushed to social media to question it:
- How is Chris Stapleton even up for this despite not putting out new music? It’s the same thing every damn year. Ridiculous. Talented guy, but ridiculous.
- Male Vocalist of the Year should go to Zach Top. That man really deserves it. Stapleton & Wallen already have enough wins of this award, so a new guy winning would be a nice change for once
