Tim McGraw Opens Up About Faith Hill’s Serious Surgeries

Tim McGraw has been open about his own health struggles for a while. He had multiple back surgeries and a double knee replacement. During a recent concert, he shared that the health issues had almost ruined his career. He also spoke out about his wife, Faith Hill’s, serious surgeries.
Tim McGraw Almost Quit Music Over Back Pain
Tim McGraw had to abruptly stop his Standing Room Only tour in 2024. The tour was in support of the album of the same name released a year earlier. He was out of commission for nearly a year after undergoing back surgery. He also had a double knee replacement prior to the tour.

The “Don’t Take the Girl” singer later revealed that he’s had four back surgeries. Each one was more difficult to recover from. During a recent concert in Highland, California, he opened up about how his health issues sparked him to write the song “King Rodeo” about an aging rodeo star struggling with the idea of retiring.
“After going through all of that for a couple of years and getting depressed over it and all those things, stuff not working right, this spring, before I had my final back surgery, things were getting really bad. So I was seriously contemplating and figuring out how to walk away,” he shared.
Fox News shared a video of the candid confession that left the crowd booing. The singer added, “So during that process, I had this idea for a song that sort of dealt with facing age and facing all that stuff that comes along with it. So I called a good friend of mine, Tom Douglas, and we sat down and we wrote a song.” He played “King Rodeo” for the crowd.

He Opens Up About His Wife’s Serious Surgeries
Tim McGraw was moved to open up about his health issues after spotting one of his doctors in the crowd. He called attention to the doctor who performed his double knee surgery. “Dr. Chen, where you at? There he is!”
The singer then made a shocking admission about his wife’s health. “And my wife has been going through quite a bit of surgeries – she’s had five neck surgeries, and she’s had a couple of hand surgeries. Her hand surgeon, Dr. Rose, is here tonight,” Tim McGraw told the crowd.
Faith Hill has stayed mainly out of the public eye since her last solo album in 2015. The couple released a greatest hits album, The Rest of Our Life, in 2017. She hasn’t shared any plans for a new album and deleted all her social media accounts last year.
Tim McGraw is back on the road after canceling his last tour. He has a brief Las Vegas residency scheduled in early December. Stay tuned for an update on Faith Hill’s return to music.
