Club Space Leads Community Cleanup as Volunteers Collect Over 1,200 Pounds of Trash
The storied Downtown Miami venue teamed up with local partners and city commissioner Damian Pardo for the waterfront cleanup.
Miami’s beloved nightlife institution Club Space swapped sunrise sets for sustainability this past weekend, hosting a community cleanup at Downtown Miami’s Bayfront Park.
Partnering with Yogi Invaders and WaveWay Foundation as well as the Miami Downtown Development Authority and Bayfront Park Trust, Club Space led a silent disco yoga session soundtracked by Mason Collective before volunteers took to the waterfront to collect trash.
Volunteers dubbed the “Space Invaders” ultimately gathered 1,222 pounds of waste from downtown Miami’s shoreline, according to Club Space. After the weigh-in, the venue shared a recap on social media thanking participants for their effort and encouraging fans to continue making sustainable choices by skipping single-use plastics and opting for reusables long after the cleanup wrapped.
The project received support from Damian Pardo, District 2 Commissioner for the City of Miami.
“Partnerships make progress possible,” Pardo wrote on Instagram. “We were proud to support Space Miami and Waveway Foundation in their cleanup this weekend. Together, volunteers removed over 1,200 lbs of debris from our shoreline!”
