Supergroup SOL INVICTO (CYPRESS HILL, DEFTONES) To Release New Music Every Friday On Bandcamp; Drops New Song “You Can’t Come Back”
“We will be releasing this new track tomorrow as part of a new initiative called, Vault Of Shadows – A collection of ideas and songs for which there is no obvious place. A new idea will be uploaded EVERY FRIDAY until further notice,” Sol Invicto‘s Richie Londres announced this week.
Sol Invicto is a supergroup featuring members of Deftones (Stephen Carpenter) and Cypress Hill (Eric Bobo), and have a rather eclectic sound as they lean towards cinematic while maintaining an electronic metal sound, accented with industrial touches.
The announcement was made alongside the song, “You Can’t Come Back,” and Londres explains,
“Exclusively on Bandcamp, not on any streaming services.
The folder/album is a work in progress, so will be constantly changing and updated.
This concept will eventually migrate back to the private music members club but only once things are consistent, operational and sustainable.
It will be on a pay what you want basis as each track is released.”
The group has technically been active since 2008, but has maintained a certain exclusivity since the introduction of their ‘private members association,’ in which only they could listen to the music Sol Invicto was working on, and not the general public. They released their last EP on streaming platforms, but now, they’re introducing Bandcamp as a way to meet fans in the middle.
