EQ Music Interview with Kasturi
In this EQ Music interview with Kasturi, we step into the cinematic world of a global creative force whose music radiates confidence, sensuality, and divine-feminine power. Splitting her time between Los Angeles and London, Kasturi blends pop, funk, and electronic sounds into what she calls “goddess sounds” — music made for transformation and self-awakening. She opens up about her upcoming project Evolution, a bold and emotional journey of empowerment, and gives us a glimpse of the immersive, multi-sensory performance she’ll be bringing to The Camden Club.
Tell us a little bit about yourself. Where are you from? Where are you living? What kind of music do you make?
I’m Kasturi, a global creative spirit originally from Los Angeles, now living between LA and London. I’m an artist, performer, actress and storyteller with roots in film, fashion, and production, and my music reflects that cinematic world I belong to. It’s bold, sensual, and empowering, fusing pop, funk, and electronic sounds with divine-feminine energy and storytelling that’s both mystical and emotional. I call it goddess sounds – music for transformation, confidence, and self-awakening.
We are very excited to be featuring you on our New Music Showcase on 24th October at The Camden Club in London. Tell us a little bit about what you are going to bring to us on the stage. I’m bringing energy, evolution, and emotion. Expect a full sensory experience. A mix of live vocals, movement, and cinematic storytelling. My Camden Club set is all about empowerment, seduction, and rebirth. I want the audience to feel something: freedom, confidence, and connection. It’s intimate but powerful, a little ethereal, and definitely unforgettable.
We love your latest release – tell us a little bit about this song/project.
Thank you! My latest release will be on pre-order soon and is from my upcoming project Evolution… A journey through self-discovery and transformation. The songs blend vulnerability and strength, exploring what it means to reclaim your power and step into your higher self. Every track in this era represents a stage of awakening – mentally, spiritually, and emotionally. It’s the sound of shedding old layers and becoming who you’re meant to be.
When it comes to music influences, who are your greatest heroes in the pop music space both legacy and new?
I grew up inspired by artists who created worlds like Michael and Janet Jackson, Prince, Britney Spears, Kylie Minogue and Beyoncé are huge for me. They made music feel like cinema. I also draw a lot of inspiration from artists like Doja Cat, The Weeknd, Janelle Monae and Rosalía — people who blend art, fashion, and culture into sound. I also love love love my fellow Libran Toni Braxton… I love music that’s immersive and transformative, where every visual and lyric feels intentional.

What was the last concert or gig you went to?
The last one was actually at Notting Hill Carnival in London this year… I watched several shows and sets like Sista Nancy and one of my all time favs and inspirations Diplo and Major Laser… They play a fusion of electronic and world music that completely re-energizes me. I love seeing artists who experiment and bring something ethereal to the stage as well. It reminds me of why I fell in love with performance… It’s about energy exchange and creating a shared moment that lingers after the lights go down.
Any parting words for our EQ Music Blog readers?
Yes…I’d like to remind creators in all genres of music, media and entertainment that your evolution is your power. Don’t wait for permission to transform, create, or shine. Wherever you are in your journey, honor it and let music be your fuel. And if you’re at the Camden Club — come ready to feel something real.
