Lainey Wilson Receives Rare Praise From Miranda Lambert
It takes a lot to impress Miranda Lambert. She worked hard to make a name for herself in country music and expects others to do the same. The “Kerosene” singer shared rare praise for Lainey Wilson. What did she have to say about the rising star?
Lainey Wilson Takes Over For Luke Bryan
Lainey Wilson’s rise to fame accelerated quickly. She spent years trying to make it as a songwriter in Nashville, Tennessee. A breakout role on Yellowstone and her hit song “Things a Man Oughta Know” were the right recipe for success.
She’s been a rising star in country music since, and her star doesn’t seem to be fading any time soon. She just landed a huge solo gig that used to belong to Luke Bryan.

Luke Bryan has hosted the CMA Awards for years. Sometimes he has co-hosts, like NFL great Payton Manning. Lainey Wilson joined them to co-host the awards last year.
It was recently announced that she’ll be hosting the 2025 CMAs solo. “I grew up watching the CMA Awards like it was the Super Bowl, so to be hosting for a second year is a true honor,” she said about the gig.
Lainey Wilson already has nine CMA Awards after just a few years in the industry. She also has several Grammys.
“Watermelon Moonshine” Singer Receives Rare Praise From Miranda Lambert
Very few in the music industry know about hustling like Lainey Wilson. Miranda Lambert is one of them. She turned a third-place win on Nashville Star into a career that has lasted over two decades.
The “Gunpowder & Lead” singer spent the summer opening for Morgan Wallen, even though she could sell out arenas on her own.

Lainey Wilson was recently named to TIME‘s list of “The World’s Most Influential Rising Stars.” Miranda Lambert wrote a tribute to Lainey for the magazine.
“I’m a huge fan of Lainey Wilson. I heard just a few songs and instantly loved what she is doing. She is such a light. She’s funny and she’s fun, and she has a spirit about her that brings joy to any room she walks in.”
The tribute continued, “What she does doesn’t define her. Who she is defines her, and that’s real authenticity. She lives and breathes songs, and you can see that passion in her eyes; it’s all about the music for her, and she lets the music lead. She’s a legend already—having taken home her first Grammy last year for Bell Bottom Country—and I’m thankful she’s a country artist. I’m really proud of how she represents the lifestyle we both love and the music we both love.”
“She’s out of the gate going 100 miles an hour,” Miranda Lambert concluded the rare praise.
The two singers collaborated on the song “Good Horses” in 2024 for Lainey Wilson’s Whirlwind album. Listen to it below.
