Seven Lions and Kerli Reunite for Vintage Melodic Dubstep Anthem, “By the Light of the Moon”

The soaring track serves as the lead single from Seven Lions’ long-awaited sophomore album, “Asleep in the Garden of Infernal Stars.”

Seven Lions and Kerli have reunited after more than a decade to release “By the Light of the Moon,” a vintage anthem that feels like a deliberate callback to the melodic dubstep era they helped define.

It’s tough to believe it’s been 11 years since the duo sent shivers to our toes back in 2014 with “Worlds Apart” and “Keep It Close,” a pair of tracks that have stood the test of time as fan-favorites in the discographies of both artists. Their chemistry is as strong as ever in the new collaboration, blending Kerli’s lyrical fragility with the cinematic grandeur of Seven Lions’ production.

“By the Light of the Moon” is the lead single from Seven Lions’ upcoming album, Asleep in the Garden of Infernal Stars, which follows 2022’s debut, Beyond the Veil. Due out December 2025 via the influential producer’s own Ophelia label, the record will revisit his early roots in trance and metal, according to a press release.

“This album is about feeling increasingly out of place in the current media landscape… there’s just so much noise,” Seven Lions said. “I wanted to turn away from all that and reconnect with what originally made me fall in love with making music. It’s definitely a statement of individuality and acceptance that I have no ‘place’”‘ in EDM other than the one I make for myself.”
