IMMINENCE Announce Departure Of Longtime Drummer PETER HANSTRÖM

Swedish metalcore/alternative rock outfit Imminence have announced the amicable departure of their longtime drummer Peter Hanström, who has stepped down after fourteen years with the band. Hanström, who joined Imminence at its inception, reflected on his journey in a heartfelt statement: “After 14 years playing drums in Imminence it’s time for me to step down.

“I would never have guessed in my wildest dreams that the decision to join Imminence would have such a big impact on my life, the amount of amazing memories and experiences I’ve gained, the fantastic people I’ve met and places visited all over the world, to be a part of that journey have been very special to me.

“To all the fans, family and friends that supported me through the years, I am forever grateful to you for believing in me. I’ve had some necessary time off to reflect in the past few months, it’s time for a bigger change in my life and open a new chapter. Be safe and stay kind! Maybe our paths will cross again.”

The band, in their own statement, praised Hanström’s role in shaping Imminence since the beginning: “Today we share news that is both heavy on our hearts and deeply personal to us as a band. Since the start of Imminence, countless shows, unforgettable memories, and a brotherhood that goes beyond music, our dear friend Peter has decided to step down from his role as drummer of Imminence.

Peter has been with us since the very beginning of our band and shared the journey of our lives together. His passion, loyalty, and spirit will always remain as a part of Imminence. We are grateful for every single moment we’ve shared and endlessly proud of what we created together. We will part ways as friends with no bad blood between us. We love you, Peter. Thank you for everything.”

Looking ahead, Imminence confirmed that all remaining concerts this year will still go ahead, with Mikael Norén — who has already been filling in over the summer — stepping behind the kit.
