Garth Brooks Has Been In The Middle Of Legal Woes
When you’re a country music legend like Garth Brooks is, you get used to making headlines. Unfortunately for Brooks, however, he has been in the headlines for the wrong reasons of late. Brooks was sued last year by a woman claiming that the singer sexually assaulted her.
Not surprisingly, Brooks vehemently denied these claims. Even though Brooks’ marriage to Trisha Yearwood has also survived the scandal, it’s always a blow when a public figure like this gets their name and reputation dragged through the mud in this manner.
Brooks Announces Exciting New Venture, What Is It?
With everything that Garth Brooks has been dealing with when it comes to the media and this scandal, he recently announced some exciting news. It turns out, there is a new program that Brooks shared on his Instagram stories and even promoted on his website.
This new initiative is called Park & Play, and its goal is to help working musicians around Nashville save on parking fees so that they have more money in their pockets and so that they can keep doing what they love.
According to what Garth Brooks promoted on his official website, this free parking program launched on August 15, with the goal of offering musicians a year of free parking. When parking fees can easily range from $100 to $400 a month, this will be a lot of extra money to save.
Garth Brooks Speaks About New Initiative
The new program is in effect at more than 20 lots in downtown Nashville. While steps must be taken to get the right credentials and benefit from this new initiative, it’s a big step forward for the working musicians in Nashville, who are such a big part of making the city into what it is.
Speaking about this new program, Garth Brooks said, “Every little bit helps, in this case, a big help. Look, the chances of somebody making it to their dream in this town is hard … the odds are so stacked against you. But things like this can be the difference in somebody surviving here just a bit longer to be discovered, and that is priceless.”
