Dolly Parton has suffered a lot of loss this year. Her husband passed away in March. Well-respected musician Ozzy Osbourne and wrestler Hulk Hogan died within days of each other last month. They both had unexpected connections to the country singer.

Despite the losses, Dolly keeps on trucking. Fans have known her as an icon for decades. Now she is officially one in the Guinness Book of World Records. Keep reading for all the details on the singer’s latest huge honor.

Dolly Parton Opens Bar In Nashville

Opening a bar in Nashville is a rite of passage at this point. Country singers Luke Bryan, Morgan Wallen, Jason Aldean, and Garth Brooks are just a few who lent their name to bars in the city’s popular Broadway area.

We can’t forget the ladies of country music. Lainey Wilson and Miranda Lambert also have bars in the Nashville hot spot. Dolly Parton has plans to open a hotel in downtown Nashville next year. In the meantime, fans can head on down to the Food Hall to buy a glass (or a bottle! We don’t judge) of Dolly Parton’s Dolly Wines.

Is there nothing Dolly can’t do? She ventured into the wine business in 2024, amid all her other obligations.

Guinness World Records Honors Dolly Parton As Icon

One thing about Dolly Parton is that she loves to keep busy. Staying busy has been a huge help while mourning her late husband. However, the singer recently revealed that she’s taking a break from writing any new songs in the wake of her husband’s death.

But that doesn’t mean Dolly Parton is going into hiding. She has a Las Vegas residency later this year, her first tour since 2016. A musical hits Broadway next year about Dolly Parton’s life story.

And what a life it’s been! The singer probably doesn’t have room for all the awards and trophies she’s won over the years. She has several Grammy Awards, countless country music awards, at least one Emmy, and was nominated for an Oscar on several occasions.

But the “9 to 5” singer better clear space for her latest honor. She was presented with the Guinness Book of World Records Icon certificate. Previous honorees include Taylor Swift, Paul McCartney, Elton John, and Beyoncé.
