ERIK WUNDER (COBALT, MAN’S GIN) Has Died At 42 Years Old

Erik Wunder, the driving creative force behind Cobalt and Man’s Gin, has died at 42 years old. Wunder‘s career began with Cobalt in 2003, where he not only handled drums but also vocals, bass, and guitars across the band’s storied discography. Outside of Cobalt, Wunder explored different musical terrain with Man’s Gin, blending dark Americana, folk, and post-rock influences.

News of Wunder‘s death was broken by Profound Lore Records, who handled both Cobalt and Man’s Gin. kept it brief, saying: “‘The world breaks everyone, and afterward, some are strong at the broken places’ – Ernest Hemingway. REST IN POWER Erik Wunder of Cobalt/Man’s Gin… you goddamn outlaw. Wow, what a ride…”

If you’ve never tuned in to anything Wunder did, please go listen to Cobalt‘s 2016 record Slow Forever immediately. That record is genuinely fucking insane.
