A Stranger Things-Themed Rave Is Landing in Colorado
There’s something strange brewing in Colorado this summer, and it’s teleporting us straight back to early-80s Hawkins, Indiana.
On Saturday, July 12th, a Stranger Things-themed rave will take over The Black Sheep in Colorado Springs, welcoming fans of Netflix’s beloved science fiction horror series to a night inspired by its many iconic moments.
Organizers are encouraging fans to come dressed up in their best 80s looks—think corduroy pants, velcro sneakers, acid wash jeans, leg warmers and scrunchies—ready to dance through the Upside Down. The event promises hits from the show’s soundtrack as well as a night of vaporous synthwave and retrowave tracks, all set against a backdrop of “immersive visuals” to match.
The “Stranger Things Rave” joins a growing list of nostalgic television- and movie-themed raves cropping up all across the country, where cult fandoms meet electronic music in increasingly imaginative ways. From Shrek-themed raves, to Pokémon parties and Powerpuff dancefloors, the line between pop culture and rave culture keeps getting beautifully blurrier.
The event is 18+ and runs from 7-11:30pm. You can purchase tickets here.
