Dolly Parton is a country singer and songwriter, first and foremost. She began her solo career in 1974 and has released some of country music’s most memorable songs, including “Jolene” and “I Will Always Love You.”

Beyond music, Dolly Parton has acted in popular films like 9 to 5 and Steel Magnolias. She’s a savvy businesswoman and co-owner of the Dollywood Theme Park in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee.

The singer is also a noted philanthropist. She’s donated over 200 million books worldwide to children through the Imagination Library.

She’s also branched out into an endless amount of side hustles. In her latest move, Dolly Parton is opening a new hotel in downtown Nashville next year. See inside the soon-to-be iconic hotspot.

Dolly Parton Resumes Touring After Husband’s Death

After a lot of begging from fans, Dolly Parton released an album of rock covers in 2023. But in an unusual move, she didn’t tour to promote Rockstar. She said at the time that she no longer toured because she didn’t want to leave her husband, Carl Dean. Dolly Parton recently released a collaboration with one of the most popular bands from the 1980s.

He sadly passed away earlier this year. In a surprising move, Dolly Parton announced earlier this week that she was going on the road again. Her last tour was the Pure & Simple Tour in 2016.

Dolly Parton takes over Las Vegas in December for a short residency. Tickets sold out in less than an hour. She has six shows scheduled on December 4, 6, 7, 10, 12 and 13. More could be added as fan demand is high. But remember, Dolly Parton is 78, so a long tour might be too much for her.

See Inside Her New Nashville Hotel

Dolly Parton is intent on leaving a lasting legacy for her fans. She revealed a few years ago that there’s a secret song hidden at Dollywood, the Tennessee theme park that bears her name.

Now the iconic performer is ready to revitalize downtown Nashville with a new hotel. The Songteller Hotel takes over a 12-story office space in the heart of the city. According to local news, it will have 245 guest rooms, including themed suites. The hotel will also have three music venues.  The Listening Lobby, a live music venue called Parton’s Live and a bar rightfully named Jolene’s.

Furthermore, the entire 3rd floor with be dedicated to the singer’s decades in the entertainment industry. She teased last month at an exhibit at the Country Music Hall of Fame that she was keeping some items to display in the new hotel. The hotel, is of course decked out in sparkles and heavy on the pink.

Dolly’s Life of Many Colors museum at the SongTeller Hotel will feature some of her iconic outfits and other memorabilia. Construction is supposed to continue through early next year for a Spring 2026 opening.
