However, based on the latest updates from the legendary singer, he quit the habit altogether for a surprising reason. So, what did he have to say?

When people think of the legends of country music, Willie Nelson is one of the names that pops up for the vast majority of listeners. Some might say Johnny Cash first, and rightly so. However, Willie is in that same breath based on the iconic career he has had, as well as for the longevity that he has enjoyed along the way.
Willie Nelson recently turned 92 years old, proving that, despite his life in the limelight and all of the attention that comes with it, he is clearly doing something right when it comes to aging gracefully and sticking around for the long haul. Over the years, many fans have wondered what his secret has been.
Surprising Reason Nelson No Longer Smokes Weed
In addition to being known for his iconic songs and his longevity, not just in life but in the music industry, one of the things that Willie Nelson has become synonymous with over his long career is his love of smoking weed.
He has been a longtime advocate of smoking weed for both medicinal and recreational purposes, and it’s something else that fans think of whenever they think of the singer. However, based on the latest updates making the rounds, Nelson admitted to quitting the herb for a surprising reason.
According to Willie, he recently said in an interview with Forbes that he “can’t smoke anymore.” The country legend went on to add, “My lungs have already said, ‘Don’t do that.’”
Fans have often joked for years that the only person who could smoke more weed than Snoop Dogg is Willie, but, it looks like Willie has had to give up that title recently.
What Is Willie Nelson Doing Instead?
For fans who may be thinking that Willie Nelson has gone off the sauce altogether, it turns out, he just found an alternative to smoking weed. Instead, Nelson has been doing edibles. He went on to say, “So, I don’t really do anything now much except a few edibles.”
Even at 92, Willie Nelson is still keeping busy. He has a line of products under the Willie’s Remedy banner, and he even released a new album called Oh What A Beautiful World back in April. So, at an age where he should be retired, Nelson continues to show that he still has plenty left in the tank, and his longtime fans love to see it.
Speaking of his THC-infused and CBD products and the reception they have gotten, Willie said, “I think it’s good, the people like it from what I’ve seen and heard. It’s getting to be pretty popular out there.”
The Willie’s Remedy website offers a range of products, including CBD coffee, tea, vapes, and more. The products are a bit pricey, however, the reception appears to be good from the customer base. The website clarifies that the CBD in the products will not get customers high, as there is not enough THC in the products to induce a full-blown high as you would get if you smoked weed, for example.
