THE MARS VOLTA Announces North American Tour & Streams Their New Album That They Barely Announced
The Mars Volta has had one hell of a mysterious rollout for their brand new record Lucro Sucio; Los Ojos Del Vacio.
The record was never announced and no singles were ever released, but all of a sudden The Mars Volta began playing the record in full live when they hit the road with Deftones. Then The Mars Volta frontman Cedric Bixler-Zavala allegedly gave a copy of the record to a food delivery person, and then about a week-ish later the record went up for pre-sale online at various record stores. Keep in mind at this point there were still no singles from Lucro sucio; Los ojos del vacio.
Then on April 7, The Mars Volta‘s label Cloud Hills finally acknowledged the record on social media for the first time, saying: “Lucro Sucio; Los Ojos Del Vacio, out April 11th, marks a significant milestone in The Mars Volta‘s ongoing evolution, being their third album since their 2022 reunion and their ninth overall.
“This atmospheric and moody release sees Omar Rodríguez-López and Cedric Bixler-Zavala revisiting their roots while continuing to reinvent themselves. The album blends their signature sound with jazz and electronica influences, celebrating their origins while pushing forward with fresh innovations – a musical journey that’s both nostalgic and new.”
