Chris Lake and Ragie Ban Reimagine 90s Classic for New House Banger, "Toxic"

Chris Lake has teamed up with rising Brazilian DJ and producer Ragie Ban to release “Toxic,” a house heater with a new jack swing twist.

Out now via Lake’s Black Book Records, “Toxic” arrives hotly anticipated. The track had become a fan-favorite, turning heads since the house music superstar first teased it in his recent DJ set at Costa Rica’s Ocaso Music Festival.

At the core of “Toxic” lies a genius sample: Bell Biv DeVoe’s 1990 classic “Poison,” which the producers reimagine with a snarling bassline and crackling percussion. The nostalgic vocal loop adds just the right amount of swagger, lending to a track that’s as timeless as it is trailblazing—true to form for Lake.

A track built for peak-hour dancefloors, “Toxic” marks another stunning chapter in the house music virtuoso’s ever-evolving sound while also spotlighting Ban’s knack for raw, percussive club music. With performances lined up at Coachella’s first-ever “Thursday Night Campgrounds” show on April 10th, plus festival slots at Breakaway and Escapade, the track is primed to become a staple of Lake’s summer arsenal.
