Why Was Jelly Roll A No-Show?
Why was Jelly Roll a no-show at the Opry 100 special event after he was initially committed to it? He was scheduled to be a part of the live event but was ultimately replaced by Post Malone. So, what happened and where was he? Keep reading for more details.
Opry 100: Why Was Jelly Roll A No-Show?
Jelly Roll has been performing all over the country since 2024. His Beautifully Broken Tour was a smash hit and sold out many of the venues. It took some time because he was a felon but he was eventually able to tour outside of the United States. He headed to Canada and they loved having him there. More so, he has made all of the shows special moments that fans won’t soon forget. At the same time, Jelly was committed to perform at the Opry 100, which took place on Wednesday, March 19th. However, he was a no-show, and that raised some eyebrows.

It was a huge event to celebrate the Grand Ole Opry and was televised for fans to see. In attendance were Reba McEntire, Lainey Wilson, Randy Travis, and Blake Shelton. Yet, where was Jelly who was set to perform with Ashley McBryde? She took the stage with Post Malone to pay homage to June Carter and Johnny Cash but this took viewers aback. They expected to see Jelly on the stage and he was MIA. Instead of being at the Opry, Jelly was in Canada for that part of his tour.
The main reason why fans were shocked he was absent was because Jelly Roll had been advertised in the promos. Therefore, he was highly anticipated. It was reported that the four-time Grammy nominee had to “bow out due to illness.” So, it is very possible that he was going to trek back for the special night and then head back out on his tour. This is not the first time he has backed out of something. He was scheduled to perform at UBS Arena in Long Island back in September 2024 but bowed out to be the musical guest on SNL.
Was Post Enough For Viewers?
Although fans were anticipating seeing Jelly Roll and Ashley McBryde duet, were they okay with Post Malone as the replacement? He had performed earlier in the evening but this was a very quick change:
- Awesome performance! Perfect pairing! Absolutely love Post! A good soul through and through.❤️🫶😏
- The duet I didn’t know I needed in my life! Awesome.
- This performance was FIREEEEE 🔥🔥🔥🔥 GREAT JOB
- 🔥 one of the best performances of the night!
It seemed Jelly’s absence was not that big of a deal and Post Malone did the song justice. They loved how he sounded and were obsessed with the duet. However, it is sad that Jelly could not make it and give the fans what they had expected.
