Dolly Parton has a lot to be thankful for, even amid the heartbreaking loss of her husband. The “Jolene” singer announced earlier this month that her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, had passed away. The country music community and her fans embraced her. What has Dolly Parton in tears now?

Popular Theme Park Opens Milestone Season

Dolly Parton is more than just a singer. She is part of all areas of the entertainment industry, from acting to her various lines of merchandise with different retailers. She famously helps children read with her donation of books through the Imagination Library.

Millions of people flock to Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, each year to visit the Dollywood theme park. The park outranked Disney World as the most popular tourist destination in one recent poll. Dolly Parton often makes unannounced visits to the theme park throughout the season. She also makes an appearance at the park’s opening nearly every year.

Dolly Parton Hasn’t Stopped Crying, Gives Thanks

Dolly Parton and Carl Dean were married in 1966. While he was immensely supportive of her career, he was rarely seen in public. In fact, some fans questioned whether he even existed. Even though her husband was very private, Dolly Parton shared many details about their marriage and the love they shared.

Country music stars of the past and present gathered in Nashville this month to celebrate 100 years of the Grand Ole Opry. You haven’t made it country music until you’ve performed in the famed circle.

Unfortunately, Dolly Parton couldn’t attend the event. She was there in spirit and via a short video message. Reba McEntire paid special tribute to her long-time friend and her iconic song “I Will Always Love You.”

“Dolly, everybody here at the Opry and around the world wants to send you our thoughts and prayers. And you gotta know, we will always love you,” Reba McEntire said. She was joined by Carrie Underwood and numerous other performers for a heartfelt rendition of the famous song.

Dolly Parton took to social media in the last few days to share her reaction to the heartfelt moment. She wrote that she hasn’t stopped crying after watching the “beautiful tribute” to her late husband. She added that she’s “cried enough to wash a great deal of the pain away,” which she thanked the Opry 100 performers for.
